About
Paul Atreides, heir of House Atreides, travels with his family to the desert planet Arrakis, where spice and power draw dangerous forces.
Dune follows Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), the heir of House Atreides, as his family prepares to leave their home world Caladan for Arrakis. The desert planet, also called Dune, is the only place where melange is found; this valuable substance is known as spice and is central to interstellar travel. Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac) has been given control of Arrakis by the Padishah Emperor, taking over from Baron Vladimir Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård). Leto weighs the dangers against the power that Arrakis and an alliance with its Fremen natives could bring. Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), his concubine, belongs to the Bene Gesserit, a sisterhood with advanced mental and physical abilities.
The characters also include Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa), Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin), Thufir Hawat (Stephen McKinley Henderson) and Stilgar (Javier Bardem).
