About
Ruslan Fedotov's documentary follows the Dnieper through Russia and Belarus, observing young people and how collective memory shapes their lives.
Ruslan Fedotov's documentary travels downstream along the Dnieper through Russia and Belarus, observing young people who grow up along the river. It is an observational film. It shows teenagers at a summer camp, passengers on a river cruise dancing to a song by Tina Turner, and children playing near monuments. It also follows performers who stage battles from the Second World War. Through these scenes, the film traces how collective memory enters the lives and imagination of the young people it observes.
