About
In 1977 Indianapolis, Tony Kiritsis takes Richard Hall, son of a mortgage broker, hostage with a shotgun rigged as a dead man's switch.
In 1977, Tony Kiritsis (Bill Skarsgård), a former real estate developer, arrives at the Meridian Mortgage office in Indianapolis for an appointment with mortgage broker M.L. Hall (Al Pacino). Instead he is met by M.L.'s son Richard (Dacre Montgomery), who says his father is on vacation. Kiritsis believes the Halls cheated him out of profit after he bought land to develop. He takes Richard captive and fits him with a shotgun rigged to a dead man's switch, set to fire if anyone interferes or Richard tries to escape. Kiritsis informs the local police and then forces Richard to drive them to his home, with authorities and reporters following. Inside, he has secured the doors and windows with explosives and keeps Richard at his kitchen table.
