About
Four friends who work in a Rotterdam garage enter the marathon to pay off its debts, while their private lives bring problems of their own.
Gerard (Stefan de Walle) runs a car garage in Rotterdam with his friends Kees (Frank Lammers), Nico (Marcel Hensema) and Leo (Martin van Waardenberg). The business is not doing well, and Nico finds papers showing that the garage has serious financial problems that Gerard has kept from the others. Their Egyptian colleague Youssoef (Mimoun Oaïssa) tells them he used to be a marathon runner and earned a living from sponsorships before a foot injury. The men decide to take part in the Rotterdam Marathon to pay off the garage's debts, but their attempts to secure sponsorship fail. In their private lives, Nico does not dare to admit that he is attracted to men, Leo ignores signs that his girlfriend Anita (Georgina Verbaan) is still working as a prostitute, and Kees struggles with the rules his strict religious wife Jolanda (Cynthia Abma) imposes at home.
