About
A former artistic photographer in besieged northern Gaza documents the war while trying to provide for his wife and newborn child.
In besieged northern Gaza, Osama, a former artistic photographer, now works as a war documentarian and journalist. Osama Al-Ashi appears as himself. He has a wife and a newborn child, and he struggles to provide for them amid hunger and wartime. With a press vest, a phone and a camera, he records the everyday destruction of Gaza as bombs fall. Director Ahmed Hassouna follows Osama closely and films his personal life, including his responsibility for his newborn child and the fears that fatherhood brings under violence. Osama's parents also appear; they fear daily for their son's life. The film shows how Osama moves between his work as a reporter and the care for his family, and it includes moments of camaraderie and hope among Palestinians.
