About
On a Yorkshire egg farm, a flock of chickens led by Ginger sees an American rooster named Rocky as their hope for escape.
Chicken Run is a stop-motion animated comedy set on an egg farm in the Yorkshire countryside, run like a prisoner-of-war camp by the cruel Mrs Tweedy (Miranda Richardson) and her submissive husband Mr Tweedy (Tony Haygarth). The flock includes Ginger (Julia Sawalha), who leads repeated escape attempts; Bunty (Imelda Staunton), Babs (Jane Horrocks), Mac (Lynn Ferguson) and Fowler (Benjamin Whitrow) are among the chickens. Chickens that no longer lay eggs are killed. One night an American rooster named Rocky Rhodes (Mel Gibson) glides over the fence and crash-lands on the farm. The chickens hide him from the Tweedys and see him as their hope for escape.
