About
Giuseppe Tornatore blends documentary and dramatised scenes to trace how farmer’s son Brunello Cucinelli built a fashion house while keeping to humanistic values.
Brunello: The Gracious Visionary traces the life of Brunello Cucinelli, the son of a farmer who became a fashion entrepreneur. Giuseppe Tornatore combines documentary material with dramatised passages. The film moves from Cucinelli’s childhood in the countryside to Solomeo, the village he spent years developing into an example of business shaped by ethics. Interviews, archive footage and personal recollections accompany the account of a man who built a global fashion house from modest beginnings while holding on to dignity, aesthetics and social justice.
Brunello Cucinelli appears as himself. Saul Nanni plays Brunello as an adult, Francesco Cannevale and Francesco Ferroni play him at seven and fifteen, Emma Fatone is Federica and Beatrice Carlani is Mamma Maria.
