About

In 1943 at Auschwitz, a Jewish gynecologist in Block 10 is pressured to assist with forced sterilizations while his daughter's life is threatened.

In 1943, Block 10 at the Auschwitz main camp holds hundreds of Jewish women in very confined rooms, separated from the rest of the camp. There, Nazi doctors perform forced sterilizations that cause severe pain, and doctors among the prisoners are forced to assist. One of them is the Jewish gynecologist Dr. Maximilian Samuel, played by Christian Berkel. To make him cooperate, he is threatened with his daughter's murder in the gas chamber, and he searches for a course of his own in this situation. Axel Prahl plays Prof. Dr. Carl Clauberg, with Patrick Joswig as Dr. Johannes Goebel, Marta Sroka as Dr. Alina Brewda, Katharina Dalichau as Hedwig Samuel, Bibiana Beglau as Dr. Adélaïde Hautval, Rafael Stachowiak as Dr. Władysław Dering and Michelle Twarowska as Felicja Pleszowska. The film is based on historical documents and witness testimony.
