About
A fifty-year portrait of Czech rock singer Bára Basiková, following her public career and private life as a woman and mother.
Helena Třeštíková’s documentary follows Czech rock singer Bára Basiková over a period of fifty years. Basiková appears as herself. The film brings together her public career and her private life. It covers her work in bands and musicals and her chart success, alongside her life as a woman and mother who combines a demanding profession with raising children and with crises in her relationships. The portrait also shows how Czech society changed from the late socialist period onward. It sets her public image against the person behind it.
