Artificial is a biographical comedy-drama set in the world behind ChatGPT. In November 2023, at the height of a global AI boom, OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever (Yura Borisov) and the company's board take a decision that drastically reshapes the company: they fire CEO Sam Altman (Andrew Garfield).
What began as the idealistic dream of a group of scientists has grown into a billion-dollar struggle over the future of artificial intelligence, and behind the scenes a power struggle breaks out as loyalties shift and ideals collide with commercial interests. Luca Guadagnino directs; the ensemble cast includes Monica Barbaro as Mira Murati, Cooper Hoffman as Greg Brockman and Jason Schwartzman as Zeke.
