About
Pünktchen, a wealthy doctor's daughter, and Anton, who lives with his ill mother, are best friends in Caroline Link's film based on Erich Kästner's book.
Luise, known to everyone as Pünktchen, and Anton are best friends, though they grow up in very different circumstances. Pünktchen is the daughter of a wealthy doctor and lives in a large house with a cook and an au pair; her parents are often absent. Anton shares a small flat with his ill mother and regularly helps out at Giovanni's ice-cream café; he keeps both the job and the school problems it causes from her so that she will not worry. Elea Geissler plays Pünktchen and Max Felder plays Anton; Juliane Köhler and August Zirner appear as Bettina and Richard Pogge. Caroline Link directed the film.
