About
A fired reporter in New Mexico sees a chance to save his career with a story about a man trapped in a cave.
Charles Tatum (Kirk Douglas) is a reporter whose career has collapsed after losing jobs at a string of major newspapers. He ends up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he talks his way into work at the small Sun-Bulletin, owned by Jacob Q. Boot (Porter Hall). Bored by the quiet local news, Tatum is sent with the paper’s young photographer Herbie Cook (Robert Arthur) to report on a hunt for rattlesnakes. On the way, they hear about Leo Minosa (Richard Benedict), a man trapped in a collapsed dwelling in the rocks. Tatum gets into the cave and sees a story that could put him back on a big paper. Jan Sterling plays Lorraine.
