About
An established rock star and an unknown singer fall in love as her career begins to rise and his goes into decline.
John Norman Howard (Kris Kristofferson) is an established rock star. At the opening concert he comes on late and under the influence, plays a few songs and then leaves. His driver takes him to a bar, where Esther Hoffman (Barbra Streisand) performs with her trio, The Oreos. When an aggressive customer tries to make John perform and a fight starts, Esther helps him out through the back. They drive off in his limousine and fall in love. Back at her place, she suggests breakfast the next morning; he brings pepperoni pizza. She hesitates but agrees to attend one of his concerts, and they arrive by helicopter.
