About
When an unidentified missile is launched at the United States, White House and military officials race to determine who is responsible and how to respond.
A House of Dynamite is a political thriller by Kathryn Bigelow about a single unidentified missile launched at the United States. In Washington, DC, Captain Olivia Walker (Rebecca Ferguson), the oversight officer for the White House Situation Room, learns that an ICBM detected over the northwest Pacific is on a trajectory toward Chicago, with twenty minutes until impact. A video conference links the Situation Room, the Pentagon and military commands. The President (Idris Elba) joins last, and the alert level is raised to DEFCON 2. Deputy National Security Advisor Jake Baerington (Gabriel Basso), Secretary of Defense Reid Baker (Jared Harris) and General Anthony Brady (Tracy Letts) are among the officials responding as they try to establish who is responsible and how to respond.
