About

A Difficult Year is a French comedy written and directed by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache. It centres on Albert Laprade (Pio Marmaï) and Bruno Ambrosi (Jonathan Cohen), two friends whose compulsive spending has left them deeply in debt. Their search for assistance brings them into contact with a group of young environmental activists. Albert and Bruno are drawn to the free beer and snacks rather than to the activists' ideals, and they join the movement without much conviction. The cast also includes Noémie Merlant, Mathieu Amalric, Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet and Luàna Bajrami.
