About
Tilda, caring for her sister and alcoholic mother, meets Viktor, who shares her swimming routine, as a doctorate offer promises change.
Tilda (Luna Wedler) studies mathematics, works at a supermarket checkout and looks after her ten-year-old sister Ida (Zoë Baier). On bad days she also cares for her alcoholic mother Andrea (Laura Tonke). The three live in a small town, and Tilda is the one who keeps things running. Then a professor offers her a doctorate in Berlin, a chance at a different future, but she does not want to leave Ida behind with their mother. In the same summer Viktor (Jannis Niewöhner) arrives in town; he swims 22 lengths in the pool, just as she does. As Tilda starts to think things might change, the situation at home begins to slip out of control.
