The Magnificent Seven — Five Great Guitars, Eric Vaarzon Morel and Mart Hillen

What to expect

The Magnificent Seven is a new jubilee guitar festival with seven virtuosos, top guitar players from the Netherlands and beyond, three different guitar acts and a warm-up of accessible workshops by the assembled guitarists.

The idea follows the 1980s live album Friday Night in San Francisco with initiator and English guitarist John McLaughlin, fusion guitarist Al Di Meola and flamenco maestro Paco de Lucia, known for three different acoustic guitar sounds and styles.

Five Great Guitars began in the late 1990s with five Dutch top guitarists: Jan Kuiper, Digmon Roovers, Eric Vaarzon Morel, Zoumana Diarra and Harry Sacksioni.

Founder and artistic director Jan Kuiper and guitar bassist Digmon Roovers tour with Five Great Guitars; earlier projects include the Santana tribute tour BLACK MAGIC WOMAN and GUITAR HEROES.
