About
What to expect
Fuse is an alternative-classical group, the house band of the TV programme Podium Klassiek, and was SPOT Artist in Residence last season.
The group has a long musical friendship with Syrian-American clarinettist and composer Kinan Azmeh, and FREE fulfils their wish to tour together.
Azmeh is a member of Yo-Yo Ma's award-winning Silk Road Ensemble, and he calls music an 'act of freedom'.
The programme includes new work by Azmeh for Fuse, arrangements of November 22nd and Airports, and adaptations of music by Béla Bartók and J.S. Bach, among others.
- Intense rhythms and spectacular improvisations
- Melancholic melodies
- Themes: hope, memory and connection
- Azmeh's roots: Arabic music, classical training, jazz
