About

What to expect

Cyanotype is a 19th-century printing method, discovered by the English scientist John Herschel.

You apply a light-sensitive mixture to paper and lay leaves, flowers or other flat things on top.

Exposure to UV light turns the paper cyan blue, while the spots where the leaves lay stay white.

In the DrukLAB you try this technique yourself under guidance.

  • Bring your own flowers, leaves, feathers or buttons
  • For the silhouettes we use images from our collection
  • Suitable for children from 5 years old
