What to expect
Children from group 7 and 8 learn to think together, ask questions and explore different ideas.
They practise independent and critical thinking, learn to understand what they think and why, and learn not to believe something just because someone else says it.
Sanne van Niel leads a group of 6 to 12 children from group 7 and 8 for about 45 minutes.
They start with a story, joke, event, drawing or funny picture and the question 'What do you find strange?', then choose a topic together, share thoughts and listen to each other.
They explain why they think something, check whether their ideas hold up, and try to understand each other even when they disagree; there are no wrong thoughts and not always one correct answer.
Everyone may join in, and at the end they list what they discovered and thought of.
