About

What to expect

The exhibition Looking Outside brings the feeling of Groningen to life with work by nearly 30 artists from AKKA, the alumni association of the Klassieke Academie in Groningen.

Visitors can playfully compose their own landscape and sharpen their view with ‘kijkuitdagingen’.

Young visitors can follow their own exciting route through the exhibition and use their superpower to make their own artwork.

  • Groninger land: heavy clay, radiant rapeseed, waving grain
  • Still waters and distant horizons
  • Traces of hard work on the land
  • Scenes around farm and home
  • Stories of people and landscapes in history
  • Some show the familiar Groningen landscape
  • Others tilt that familiar image
  • AKKA combines traditional craft, modern view and renewal
  • Check online agenda: current in-depth programme
