What to expect

Thea Steenbergen (1957) worked as a pediatric nurse in Hoogeveen and a neonatal nurse in Groningen, and music has always played a large role in her life.

Her musical journey began with Algemene Muzikale Vorming, and at age 10 she had her first organ lessons from Martin Groenewold.

Later she took lessons from Gea Hoven, cantor-organist of the Evangelisch Lutherse Kerk in Zwolle, and since 2019 she has been a pupil of Eeuwe Zijlstra, a church and concert organist and organ and music teacher.

As a church organist she gives regular concerts, has played in the Sint-Janskathedraal in ’s Hertogenbosch, gave concerts with three other female organists and gives house concerts.

At her home is an organ built in 1993 by the organ builder Reil from Heerde.
